Kiwa Bio-Tech To Enter the Traditional Chinese Medicine Market

ONTARIO, CA, March 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corporation (OTCQB: KWBT) (“Kiwa Bio-Tech” or the “Company”), a Company promoting eco-friendly microbial fertilizer products, announced today that the company has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with The Traditional Chinese Medicine Market Committee of The Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (the “Committee”). Pursuant to the agreement, Kiwa Bio-Tech will support the establishment of standards for planting the Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbs by integrating the Company’s methods of fertilization into the standards. 

According to China’s Ministry of Agriculture (the “Ministry”), the total planting area of Traditional Chinese Medicine (“TCM”) reached approximately 2.2 million hectares in 2017, in comparison to approximately 1 million hectares in 2016. The Ministry is seriously promoting standardized planting and producing systems adopted by the TCM in order to improve the level of quality control in the industry. Under the cooperative agreement, Kiwa Bio-Tech will develop fertilization plans and utilize the Company’s biological fertilizer products in experimental bases designated by the Committee, covering a total area of approximately 3,300 hectares. Based on the soil conditions, the growth and the yield of the herbs and the other statistics, and after evaluating the effects of the Company’s bio-fertilizer, Kiwa Bio-Tech will provide criteria for developing standardized planting and fertilizing systems.
