Every few months, Linksys comes out with an even better router to excite me with. Today, I am looking at the EA7500 Maxstream router that I’ve been testing out for a few weeks.

As technology advances, we require more and more bandwidth to view our content. With 4K video becoming the norm, technologies such as 5K and 8K are progressing. The Linksys EA 7500 allows users to stream 4K content across their network without any lag or buffering.

The EA7500 looks simple and gets the job done. It doesn’t look like something that came off a movie set, but it looks like a piece of equipment that belongs on your network. It isn’t overstated or understated at all in terms of design.

With 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, those devices that require a hard wired connection will certainly benefit from the speed that the EA7500 provides. The EA7500 provides 1.9 Gbps speeds on two simultaneous bands, a 2.4 Ghz band up to 600 mbps and a 5 ghz band up to 1300 mbps.

With other routers, you may have the fight of finding a good wifi signal where your neighbours wifi isn’t taking over the signal. This isn’t the case with the EA7500 and that’s a huge benefit.

The backend of the router uses Linksys Smart Wifi with the same interface as the previous generations. Setup is super easy and very straight forward, even grandma could set up the EA7500.

Overall, I love the router and I can definitely notice improvements in speed especially when it comes to streaming content. I highly recommend the EA7500 if you’re looking for a very high performance routers in today’s day and age.
