Well, I needed new door locks so I decided to look into a few. I’ve had my eye on the Kwikset 910 for a while so the people at Kwikset provided me with a unit to try out. The Kwikset 910 is Z-Wave enabled and works seamlessly with ADT Pulse.
Installation is a breeze! I thought it would be way more complex to install the Kwikset 910 but as a total newbie to installing locks, I was able to get it done in under 15 minutes as I was replacing an existing lock.
When entering the wrong code several times, it emits a tone that could be way louder. Personally I do wish the alarm was louder and would integrate way better with ADT Pulse. All you can really do from ADT Pulse’s application with the door lock is lock and unlock it. There is no alarm integration if you input the wrong code several times. To be fair to Kwikset, this is actually ADT that isn’t allowing additional integration. I’m sure Kwikset would do what ever they could to make the Kwikset/ADT experience as superb as possible.
There are several features that I just love, such as auto locking, a backlit keypad and the ability to add up to 30 entry codes. Programming is super simple that your grandparents could do it.
You can pick one up today for around $300 from Amazon right now. It also comes in different finishes such as Satin Nickel and Venetian Bronze.
Overall, love the lock but I do wish that they worked with ADT to provide more functionality with the alarm.
