Well, it’s almost here! The malls are getting packed, it’s time to buy your holiday gifts! It’s really hard to decide which gifts to buy since there are so many good ones and so many ones that just outright suck. Well, look no further because I have a gift guide for you! This is the first part of the gift guide that will cover tablets, security (both personal and online) along with some fun and cheap products. Stay tuned over the next few weeks where I’ll be releasing more of my top tech picks.

For the tablet lover in your life, I suggest the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 if you’re looking for a high end Windows 8.1 tablet. It has a very sturdy build, high performance, it’s a replacement for your desktop or laptop. I just love it and I wish I had one. The prices vary on the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, so really look into which model you’ll want to buy. If this is a basic user, they don’t need the Surface Pro 3 with 128GB drive and the top speeds, but they might be able to get an entry level Microsoft Surface Pro 3, or if that’s still too much, there’s always the ASUS Transformer Book running on Windows 8.1 powered by Intel that’s reasonable. There’s always the Audiovox Android tablet if you want a stocking stuffer and are on a budget. It does the job and it quite basic.

And if you’re looking for a good tablet stand, there’s Tablift, a rugged collapsable tablet stand.

Truth be told, there are a lot of psychos out there these days. There are products on the market right now that can help you if you’re in a sticky situation and need to get out of it. My good friend, who’s also the beautiful Mrs. Nevada, Patti Stewart, has some amazing products available, primarily for women however men can use them. Here’s a bit of info about them:

Stun gun: Yes, I do suggest getting a stun gun and carrying it around with you, may you be a man or a woman. They’re only $60 and they are totally legal in the USA except for a few states I believe. But for $60, it can get you out of a sticky mess or scare away that weirdo. The one that Patti offers I’ve seen in person and it’s really good. It comes in two colours, black and pink.

Personal alarm: Yes, it’s only $10 but it can scare someone away who might be after you. This baby is 120DB, meaning it will scare anyone away and get attention fast.

Kubotan: This isn’t really tech, but for $10, it can cause a lot of damage. It comes in Black, Ombre Black, Ombre Pink, Ombre Purple, Ombre Teal, Ombre Lime.

Pepper Spray: There is this new product called The Defender. It packs pepper spray but when engaged it takes a selfie of the perp and sends it to the cops. Yep, no jokes it really does. Check it out here.

Yubico: Personal IT security is all people are talking about these days. It’s breach after breach and people just need to be more secure with their data. I do suggest checking out my article about Yubico and picking one up ASAP.

Mr. Beams Netbright: Gosh, I LOVE the Mr. Beams products. I just got the NetBright lights a few days ago and I immediately set them up. I know you guys love the previous reviews I’ve done about Mr. Beams but the NetBright just takes things to the next level in home security. Now, the spotlights link up wirelessly over an RF signal that when one is engaged by motion, the rest turn on too! Really cool and the range is awesome! Highly suggest picking these up and buying them as stocking stuffers. Check out Mr. Beams’s website for more information. They haven’t been quite released yet, but stay tuned on my Twitter for these. I’ll post a tweet once I see that they are out.

Shutterball by Audiovox: It’s small, it’s fun, and it lets you take the coolest selfies ever. Yes, selfies are still the thing.

Parrot AR. Drone: This device is awesome! It’s a drone that you fly around using your iPhone, iPad or Android device. You only get a few minutes of play time though which I found was the downside. But it isn’t a stocking stuffer! This baby is more like a solid under the tree gift.

Excited for part 2 of my top tech picks? Stay tuned! 🙂

I’m required to disclose a relationship between our site and Intel Canada.
