Over the past month and a bit, I’ve had the opportunity to review the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt. Originally I saw this product at CES 2013 and I immediately wanted to try it out! Well, the folks at Schlage’s PR team were nice enough to send me one to test out, thanks guys!

I love, I repeat, LOVE the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt. It’s so easy to install, setup and use on a day to day basis. It’s a device that’s designed to keep the bad guys out of your house, but has a ton of internet connected features that unfortunately I wasn’t able to review since I don’t have Nexia Home Intelligence. I’ve asked Schlage and Nexia to review this, but they don’t have any units available to review, ugh. So sorry guys, this review won’t get into the cool “connected” features. As such, this review is going to be extremely basic.

So, in addition to the awesome touchscreen, it includes some sweet features like a built-in audible alarm. There are three different alarms, activity, tamper or forced entry alert. I found this to be extremely useful and a deterrent to burgulars.

Installation was a breeze, easier than I thought it would be. There’s no need to do any custom wiring and you don’t need to hire an electrician, it’s all DIY.

Using the deadbolt is very easy, just punch your code in and volla, door is opened.

Overall, I do suggest the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt and I do wish I could review the Internet connected features, that’s what this lock is all about. But until that happens, sorry but this concludes the review. From what I have seen so far, excluding any Internet capabilities, the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt gets a rating of {rating}. Get it today from retailers such as Home Depot!
