For the past few weeks, I have been testing out the Mr. Beams ReadyBright Power Outage Lighting System. I have to say, I absolutely love it. It’s such a high quality product and for the price, you really can’t beat that!

When your power goes out, you are usually frantically looking for a flashlight, which most likely, won’t have working batteries. It’s a constant struggle and even if you have an iPhone or any other Smartphone with that flashlight app, do you really want to drain your battery since that’s your only line to the outside world? Probably not.

Thankfully, Mr. Beams has realized this issue and has developed this amazing product that comes in a kit. All of the kits are different, and I received a custom kit with a certain number of each lights so I can fully test the product. However, there is the dorm kit and for only $40 (savings of $20!!) you get: 1 MB980 Anywhere Ceiling Light & 1 MB723 (Set of 3) Stick-Anywhere Night Lights!! Essential for any college-bound student.

Installation was super easy, and took about an hour to install all of the lights that I received, both the ceiling lights and the stair lights. The ceiling lights take four D cell batteries (quick tip, buy them at the dollar store, they are cheap there) and the stair lights take 4 AA batteries. They are relatively low profile so it doesn’t really stick out much. But my oh my it does the job when the power goes out, the ceiling light totally lights up the room allowing you to easily navigate around your room, safely and also perform the non-electricity tasks you were about to do before your power went out. When the power goes out, all of the ReadyBright lights go on, automatically and lasts you for about 8 hours.

It’s such a great system, I’m thinking of getting additional kits for outside and my kitchen. For all you amazing readers out there, Mr. Beams has given me a coupon code that will give you a sweet discount off your purchase! Go to now and enter code “trustednerd” for a wicked discount on their products. Overall, I highly recommend this product.
