DUDE! These headphones are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I have never in my life listened to such amazing headphones, ever. The Sennheiser Momentum Black Headphones kick the crap out of Bose and any other competitor. If you can’t already tell, I love these headphones so much, they just sound FAB-U-LOUS!

It’s hard to describe how comfortable these headphones sound. They have leather covered earpads that just feel like the headphones are meant to be on your ears. The build quality is out of this world amazing and look elegant and come in a very nice carrying case.

Speaking about build quality and such, I have to commend Sennheiser on the amazing packaging they did for the Sennheiser Momentum Black. When you pick this product off the shelves you know you don’t have a cheap pair of headphones. The packaging really stands out and is premium. Well done Sennheiser in these regards also.

As a benefit, Sennheiser also includes two (Yes two) cables, one is an Apple in-line remote and microphone. The in-line is 52 inches long and the regular cable is 56 inches long. The cable quality is also very high end. It’s not going to fray at the connection areas, that’s for sure. A very nice addition is that the in-line cable is hinged at the connection with a metal hinge, not a plastic one. Having the cable hinged means you can have it in both vertical and horizontal for devices like computers where you may want it vertical and horizontal for those other types of devices. Really cool addition!

The in-line remote is also all-metal, not that cheap plastic garbage that breaks so easily and looks extremely cheap. No, even your Apple remote looks premium, very premium.

These headphones are audiophile quality, true audiophile quality. Nothing in the headphone range at the under $500 price can beat this type of quality. Not Bose, not Fanny Wang, not SOL Republic, nothing.

With these headphones, you truly get what you pay for in a really good sense. Yes, they do run at $399 but it’s worth every penny. These stand out, not like those weird looking Monster headphones with the feathers and spikes sticking out of it that make you look like a total idiot, or have so much bling and glitter to make you want to cry. These stand out as being premium, sophisticated headphones that anyone (young or old) will want to wear. They do not look like those “cheap” (overpriced) Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

The ear cups are metallic finished and can be moved up and down. However, note that the headband is not hinged meaning you can’t fold them at all. Many people will see this as a downside but really, how many headphones have you had where the hinges are so cheaply manufactured that they just snap and break over wear-and-tear? Quite a few I bet. Here’s the plus, it comes with a beautiful carrying case.

For those techies, here is some technical data:

Ear coupling Circumaural
Transducer principle Dynamic, closed
Max. sound pressure level 110 dB
Impedance 18 Ω
THD, total harmonic distortion < 0.5 %
Contact pressure 2.8 N
Load rating 200 mW

Well overall I am quite sure you know by now what I think of these headphones. All I can say is “oh hot damn, these Sennheiser headphones are my jam.” I do highly suggest you pick up a pair from your local retailer or Sennheiser’s website today. I have no problem at all in giving the Sennheiser Momentum Black headphones this rating:
