Review: Swingline Stack and Shred 60x

Let me start off this review stating I have NEVER in my life seen a shredder as good as the Swingline Stack-and-Shred 60x like holy smokes. In the past, I was seeing myself throw away at least 3-4 shredders a year. Why? They simply jam and burn out.

Shredding can be a very tedious task. Shredding sheet after sheet, and I don’t have the time to sit next to a shredder doing sheet after sheet. This is where the Swingline Stack and Shred comes into play. I have 60 sheets to shred, no problem. All I do is I stack them up, open the lid, shove those sheets in there and close the lid and the shredder does the job for me, and quickly too. It’s a total lifesaver.

The only downside is after using it continuously for 10 minutes you have to let it cool down for 40 minutes. But consider this, Stack-and-Shred 60x shreds about 30 sheets in 45 seconds during my tests so if you are shredding “that much” you might want to step up in their models to a more enterprise level shredder.  The other downside was that the 4 gallon bin for disposal holds about 50 shredded sheets so you are finding yourself clear the bin before the entire 60 sheets are done.

This model doesn’t have all the security features that it’s brother has, like the security lock feature which I would much appreciate that they had on this model. What the security features do in the higher up models is they make you enter a pin code to open the lid, that is, so you don’t walk off and someone will read your confidential documents.

Here are some overall specifications of the Swingline Stack-and-Shred 60x:
