Microsoft announces Windows 8 retail availability date – October 26, 2012

Microsoft has just announced that Windows 8 will be available on October 26th. The announcement came from Steven Sinofsky at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting.

Now that there is a firm date, users can now start planning their Windows 8 deployment. We hope that businesses will start planning their upgrade to Windows 8 and that they won’t stick onto Windows 7. This also pinpoints a date for the Surface RT tablet as Microsoft has stated when Windows 8 launches will be when the Surface RT tablet launches.
